Navratri 2023
New LPS are proud to announce this years Navratri Event, a collaboration between New LPS, Shree Sorathia Prajapati Community, Shree Prajapati Association, and Bolton Hindu Forum.
Join us at Bolton Indian Sports Club from Sunday, October 15th to October 23rd 2023, for 9 nights of Navratri celebrations.
The event will feature music and singers. This will be a free of charge event.
The countdown to Navratri has commenced, and the organiser’s are adding the final touches to the event.
As there are restrictions on the number of attendees for health and safety reasons, we kindly request that members respond to the WhatsApp alert number to confirm their attendance and specify the days they plan to attend.

Volleyball starting Tuesday 6th July 2021 at Essa Academy between 7-8pm – £3 each week aimed at all members.
Walking Football Sundays at Bolton Arena between 10:30-11:30am – start date TBC depending on interest – £3 each week (first two sessions free) – aimed at 45+ year olds.
Badminton Thursdays 7-8pm or 8-9pm – start date and venue TBC depending on interest – £3 each week aimed at ladies.

Non-contact Sports: 01 July 2021
The next stage of lockdown is due to take place on 19th July 2021. Due to COVID-19 no contact events have taken place since March 2020.
During lockdown New LPS have instead organised non contacts events in the last six months to engage members in sports and encourage communication. Activities have included Chit Chat sessions for women and individual fitness sports challenges for all by either walking, running, cycling or combination. Chit Chat sessions for ladies have run successfully on a monthly basis since March 2021 which have included topics of interests and games via Zoom. The final chit chat session was held on May 13th 2021.
New LPS Bolton successfully engaged interested members in the 100km & 150km Sports challenge to promote fitness and activity during February to June 2021.

Navratri 2019: Starts 29th September 2019, 9 days
This years Navratri celebrations will take place at the Market Hall, Knowsley Street, Bolton starting from 29th September for 9 days. The venue is situated on the 1st floor near to the central escalators and lifts. Free parking will be available during these celebrations. The event has been organised in collaboration with Bolton Hindu Forum (BHF). They have organised a live band from India to perform during the 9 day event.
Volleyball : Starts 7th February 2019 (And every Tuesday after that)
In the old days many of our members use to play volleyball, and over time this seems to have faded out. Well we are now bringing this back and it is open to all Men and Women, ages 12+. It will be a chance to stay fit, have fun, compete and socialise on a weekly basis. We encourage all the adults in our community to get involved. It starts on Tuesday 7th February, 7pm to 8pm (and every week, same time & place). Venue: Essa Academy, Lever Edge Lane.
Silver Sundays: 10th March 2019
This is aimed at the Semi-Retired and Retired members of our community. A chance to get together on a Sunday every other month, interact, socialise, play games, and reminisce over tea, coffee and snacks. Each event will be of a different theme. We welcome anyone who wishes to sponsor and donate these events and help out. Should any members wish to attend but struggle for transportation then please get in touch with any of the committee members and we will make the appropriate arrangements to get them there .

Annual General Meeting, AGM: 7th April 2019
This year our AGM will be held at Rumworth Club, Prescott St, Bolton, BL3 3LZ, on Sunday 7th April, start time of 2pm. We hope all members attend and encourage the youth and their families to also attend. It is our intention to make this meeting as positive and interactive as possible. We will also be collecting Membership Renewals on the day, so please bring along payment with you.
Cruise Trip: 21st July 2019
A number of our members asked if we had any plans to organise a touring trip for them this year. So instead of a coach tour, we thought why not push the boat out (pardon the pun) and organise a Cruise Trip instead. This is another first for our Bolton Samaj. Thanks to one of our Trustees who worked very hard to pull an excellent package together we are proud to promote this Event. Already 18 persons have booked to go on this trip. Places are limited so please enquire fast with our Vice President, Kaminiben who will confirm prices and availability at the time.

Navratri: 29th September 2019
We are in the middle of talks with a number of Samaj’s through the Bolton Hindu Forum around the possibility of holding joint Navritri’s in Bolton. This would help improve on attendances, cost and also the quality of the event. Should this not come into fruition then we will look to secure a venue for our members and music for the 9 day event. We will communicate more on this at the AGM.
Diwali Party: 9th November 2019
This year our Diwali Party will be held at the Holiday Inn, Town Centre. All ticket details will be communicated at our Annual General Meeting in April. Please note, tickets will sell very fast, so once they are on Sale do not delay to reserve yours. Also if anyone wishes to get involved in performing any dances for the event, then please get in touch directly with ‘Tinaben’ who is organising.
