What a wonderful time at the horse-riding activity! Families across different days had a blast with 30 minutes of stable management and a 30-minute hack. It was a joyous experience for everyone, especially those new to horse riding. Thanks to all for making it such a memorable and fun adventure.

Silver Sunday – 2nd April 2023
We are pleased to announce that on 2 April, New LPS hosted their first event for our members. The ‘Silver Sunday’ event, first launched in 2019 has proved to be extremely popular amongst our members.
The event is designed to encourage our elder members to interact with their friends in a social environment, exchange stories and enjoy the ‘customary’ game of bingo’.
On this occasion, we were able to provide a short Yoga and Wellbeing session.
A demonstration and talk was given by Priya Narsai-Punam. Priya works for Bolton Council as a Developmental Officer and specialises in mental health and wellbeing training. We thank Priya for giving up her valuable time for the benefit of our members.
Lunch was kindly provided by Sardaben, Maheshbhai, Kaminaben and family in memory of their late mother Bhuliben Thakorbhai Patel (Nasura).
Bingo winners were presented with Ganesh murthi’s kindly donated by Maheshbhai and family in memory of their late mother Vahaliben Govindbhai Patel (Khoj Pardi).
A special thanks to our team of volunteer members who give up their time to ensure that a good experience was had by all and to those that kindly donated on the day.

A message from your President
The committee and I have been overwhelmed with the messages we have received, both personally and on our Facebook page following the Diwali party. It was good to witness the vibrant colours, the smiling faces of the children and the energy of both the youth and the older members on the dance floor. This party also gave members a chance to catch up with friends and family who they haven’t seen during the pandemic.
We have also received great feedback from our non Hindu guests. One quoted “ great night, thanks for giving us an insight into the Hindu community, you guys like to party”!
This event has inspired me to consider planning for next year. As you all know there will be major changes within the committee at the next AGM. The Samaj needs fresh faces to take it forward and a younger generation to lead. Whether a new committee comes forward or not, there is no reason to NOT organise another party.
It goes without saying that an event of this magnitude requires careful planning in securing the right venue, catering and entertainment. All this needs financial support from the outset.
Therefore, if there is a desire from our members to participate in an event next year, then we would consider this for you. We will send out a similar proposal to that of last year in that, we would request a payment up front, and in the event that we don’t reach the amount to cover a venue within a reasonable timescale, then members would be refunded in full.
For all those that supported us, we have demonstrated that this can be achieved. Please support us and we promise to deliver again next year!
Please continue to share your pictures of our party as widely as possible.
